(1505-85)
Palestinian rabbi. He was born in Salonica. He was one of the four scholars ordained by Jacob Berab in his attempt to reintroduce ordination and establish an authoritative Jewish leadership. Trani served as a rabbi and dayyan for 54 years, eventually becoming spiritual head of the Safed community.
